Meet Your Doctor

Dr. Daryl Allen

My philosophy when treating patients is that structure equals function. When the bones and joints are misaligned, it creates added stress on the body that is often hard to overcome. By removing the misalignments, there is less nerve interference, and the body is able to heal itself. When your body’s structure is good, your function will be good. Growing up in Springfield, Illinois, I had very little experience with chiropractic until my high school years. It was at this time when my mother suffered from lower back pain that left her almost immobile and unable to work. She saw a chiropractor and eventually was able to move as she could before. After this experience, I began to re-evaluate my career path and decided to choose the field of chiropractic over medical school.

I attended Eastern Illinois University before transferring to Logan College of Chiropractic, one of the most respected chiropractic schools in the country, where I completed my bachelor's degree in Human Biology, followed by a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. While at Logan, I pursued extra studies around the country in the Gonstead System: extremity adjusting and pediatric chiropractic.

I made the choice to return to my hometown of Springfield in 2004 to start a family chiropractic office. I strive to stay up-to-date with the latest in the health and research as well as the care given to my patients through continuing education. Some of my topics of interest include sports related injuries, nutrition and clinical research. I enjoy participating in community events, and currently serve as a Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce Ambassador.
